I'm so glad you're here.
My name is Lori Baca, and I'm an author whose writing is shaped by my faith in Christ and my journey through chronic illness. For years, I've dreamed about sharing my story—not because it's extraordinary, but because I know what it's like to feel unseen, unheard, and desperate for hope.

At fourteen years old, I began experiencing symptoms that no one could fully explain. What started as headaches eventually became years of chronic pain, endless doctor appointments, misdiagnoses, and questions that seemed to have no answers. It would take nearly a decade before I was finally diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, a neurological condition that had been affecting my life for years.
In December 2023, I underwent brain surgery. While surgery marked a significant chapter in my journey, it wasn't the end of the story. The deeper story is about faith, the faith that carried me through seasons of uncertainty, disappointment, and waiting.
Writing has become one of the ways I process God's faithfulness. Through my words, I hope to encourage those who are walking through chronic illness, difficult circumstances, unanswered prayers, or seasons where God feels silent. My prayer is that readers will discover that hope can exist even in the hardest places.
When I'm not writing, you'll find me working in higher education, serving with my church's student ministry, spending time with family and friends, or enjoying the beauty of the world around me.
This website is a place where I'll share updates about my writing, reflections on faith and chronic illness, and encouragement for anyone navigating difficult seasons.
Whether you found your way here because of my book, a blog post, or simply by chance, thank you for stopping by. I hope you'll stay awhile.
We're all carrying stories. This is mine, and I'm honored to share it with you.
-Lori
